MOG antibodies in multiple sclerosis
Anitbodies against neuronal cell antigens/neural antigens myelin incl. titer determination. Myelin Oligodendrozytenglykoprotein-Ak. 0.50 ml Serum.
It is recommended that you request this test through your specialist. Blood Values Test cannot support this test for consumers. This test should be part of an entire diagnosis.
MOG antibodies is found in
- 7% of patients with NMO,
- 13% with HR-NMO (high risk: recurrent episodes of optic neuritis) and in
- 42% of patients with ADEM (acute disseminated encephalomyelitis)
They can also occur in aquaporin-4 Ab-negative patients. If the detection of MOG antibodies is negative, the detection of aquaporin-4-Ab is useful.
If MOG antibodies are requested, a cell-based assay (CBA) is performed for confirmation to ensure the highest possible specificity.
