Blood test preparation:
-Fasting at least 12 hours before the blood test. That means no food and drink only water.
- Please do no strenuous physical exercise 48 hours before the blood test.
- Do not drink alcohol at least 24 hours before the test.
- Do not take any supplements 24 hours before the test. If you take biotin, stop taking this supplement at least 72 hours before your test. Medications can, of course, be taken.
- Drink extra water before the blood test.
- Try to schedule the blood draw in the morning to ensure the most accurate cortisol level results.
For the most objective values, it is advisable to have this test pricked according to this dietary advice.
