The iGene DNA Test – Health is a comprehensive genetic analysis that provides insights into drug sensitivity, personal characteristics, and nutrition and lifestyle recommendations based on your unique DNA profile. This test is designed for people who value health education and prevention.

This DNA analysis offers insight into three health topics:

Drug sensitivity & pharmacogenetics (including MTHFR)
Personal characteristics such as lactose intolerance, taste perception and hair color
Preventive nutrition and lifestyle recommendations

Would you like to discuss your results with an iGene Certified Professional? If so, please add the product“iGene Consult Cora” to your order.
Medical conditions can only be interpreted by an iGene Certified Professional working under the supervision of a physician.

In order for the consultation to take place, you must link your iGene app to us.
Follow the steps below when collecting your saliva sample:
- Open the iGene app
- Go to Settings (the gear icon in the top right corner of the app)
- Click on “Share Data.” Enter the practice code: BLOEDWAARDENTEST and the client code: your own tube number.
Make sure you've filled this out before the results are available.

After a saliva sample is collected, your DNA will be analyzed in a medical laboratory. Within 4 weeks, you’ll receive a personalized Gene Passport, available in the iGene App and as a PDF download.

A valuable investment: your DNA does not change. You only take this test once, but you continue to benefit from the information for life, including regular updates as soon as new genetic insights become available.

Can I choose what information I want to receive or not receive

Yes, in the iGene App you can indicate under settings whether you want the genetic predisposition for disorders to be visible. If you turn this off, you will still receive all advice, but without the actual risks being shown.

What conditions are included, if I do want to see that information

The test can provide insight into genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's disease, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, various cancers (such as breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer), osteoporosis, rheumatism and more. When displayed, you will receive comprehensive lifestyle recommendations for each condition.

What does the pharmacogenetic profile entail

The pharmacogenetic profile shows how your body may react to more than 60 drugs based on enzyme activity. This information can be valuable for your doctor or pharmacist to consider when making medication choices.

What are personal characteristics being tested

Examples of personal characteristics include: lactose intolerance, gluten sensitivity (celiac disease), caffeine sensitivity, bitter taste perception, predisposition to hair loss, muscle fiber composition and sensitivity to stress or pain. These insights are often "handy to know" and help with lifestyle choices.
