IgE Inhalation Allergens (20) RP - Finger Prick
The IgE Inhalation Screening (Finger prick) is a targeted test that provides insight into allergies caused by inhaling allergens. These include symptoms such as sneezing, stuffy nose, shortness of breath, coughing or itchy eyes. This test examines 20 common inhalant allergens.
When your immune system is exposed to allergens through the respiratory tract for long periods of time, an IgG reaction may first occur. With continued or overexposure, this can turn into an IgE-mediated allergy. This means your body exhibits a direct allergic reaction.
This test screens for the following 20 inhalation allergens:
- Trees: Birch, Alder, Hazel
- Animals (dander): Guinea pig, Hamster, Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Horse, Poultry feather mix.
- Grasses: Mugwort, Deadgrass, Rye, Plantain
- Fungal mix: Alternaria alternata, Aspergillus fumigatus, Cladosporium herbarum, Penicillium notatum
- House dust mix: Dermatophagoides farinae, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus
This test measures only IgE-mediated allergies via inhalation and is intended as a complementary health check. The results of this test are not routinely recognized by general practitioners or mainstream healthcare providers.
