PFOS
(PFOS) from serum
Perfluorooctansulfonic 5 µg/l
The BAT value of the DFG is 15000 µg/l.
The Ministry of the Environment has the following reference values for PFOS in plasma/serum
indicated:
- < 20 µg/L for women,
- < 25 µg/L for men and
- < 10 µg/L for children under 10 years of age.
The analysis time is 7-10 working days, 2 ml of serum should be sent in per parameter.
PFOA was often used in the production of certain fluoropolymer products, such as Teflon. It was also used as a surfactant and lubricant in various industrial processes. It can also be found in groundwater.
PFOS has been used in fire-retardant foams, textile finishes and some other applications because of its fire-resistant and water-repellent properties.
