Athletes on their way to the top often have challenges financing everything and arranging the right facilities. Only a few succeed in gaining top sports status with the benefit of facilities. After the sports career, many athletes fall into the "black" hole. Not realizing, or realizing too late, that there is also a social career after sports.

After an analysis, Frans van de Ven came to the conclusion that before the athlete at the NOC-NSF, has the status of a "top athlete," and is therefore eligible for the facilities from that time, the necessary arrangements must be made for the athlete. The facilities become accessible in a cooperative partnership where professionals and athletes come together.

The top sports model advises and guides teams and individual athletes during and after their careers. Advising is done by an advisory board made up of professionals with individual specializations. The advisory board is part of the cooperative to which the top athletes and advisory board have a membership.
