Bonusan blood values check fatty acid balance and omega 3-6 index
Omega 3-6 index (OME3i from Serum) at lab Stein (additional separate Serum tube, if combined with other research. )
The Bonusan blood value check fatty acid balance and omega 3-6 index provides insight into the ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 and omega-9 in the blood and the presence of unsaturated and saturated fatty acids. A healthy omega 3:6 ratio is 1:3 or lower, up to 1:1. Because of our diet and lifestyle, almost everyone has an excessive ratio. This can contribute to a wide range of health conditions and can increase the risk of diseases of affluence. Because it also charts the presence of unsaturated and saturated fatty acids, this test also provides insight into lipid metabolism and risk markers for cardiovascular disease, among other things.
Blood is tested for:
Omega-3 fatty acids
Alpha-linolenic acid
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
Omega-6 fatty acids
Linoleic acid
Gamma-linolenic acid
Eicosatrienoic acid
Arachidonic acid
Monounsaturated fatty acids
Nervonic acid
Oleic acid
Palmitoleic acid
Myristoleic acid
Saturated fatty acids
Stearic acid
Lignoceric acid
Palmitic acid
Myristic acid
The following ratios are calculated:
Omega-3 fatty acids (relative)
Omega-3 index from serum**
Omega-6 fatty acids (relative)
Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acids ratio
Ratio of polyunsaturated fatty acids
Ratio of monounsaturated fatty acids
Ratio of arachidonic acid/EPA
Ratio of arachidonic acid/eicosatrienic acid
Ratio of lignoceric acid/nervonic acid
Ratio of Saturated/single unsaturated fatty acids
Ratio saturated fatty acids
Ratio saturated/multounsaturated fatty acids
Ratio arachidonic acid/(EPA+eicosatrienic acid)
Ratio Linoleic acid/(arachidone+eicosatrienic acid)
This study is reported in two parts. The lab report shows the measured value and the specification with the ratios follows later.
