Some people with a contact allergy to nickel also react to nickel that occurs naturally in foods. Only these people can benefit from a nickel restricted diet.
If the instituted therapy has insufficient results in contact allergy to nickel it may be useful to restrict the intake of nickel through the diet. In this case a dietician will prepare a dietary recommendation for a nickel-restricted trial diet.
It is also possible to measure nickel poisoning from blood.
