Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein
LBP (Kurzel from serum)
lipopolysaccharide-binding protein is an acute-phase protein with the ability to bind and pass bacterial LPS (or endotoxin).
Changes in serum LBP level has effects on the body's ability to respond to endotoxin and protect itself from infection.
The higher the LBP value the higher the inflammation.
