haptoglobin complex from feces
Hemoglobin-Haptoglobin complex in feces
One tube of stool, one brown tube.
Collection of stool >fill the tube three-quartersfull with feces (not too full and certainly no contamination on the outside of the jar!).
Stool examination in suspected bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, early detection of colorectal carcinoma. Pre-analytical determination of hemoglobin-haptoglobin complex in stool is a more stable test than hemoglobin in stool.
Detection of hemoglobin-haptoglobin complex in stool indicates colorectal carcinoma and should be clarified by further examination (colonoscopy). The immunologic test has significantly better diagnostic sensitivity than blood in the stool alone (guajac).
Method ELISA (EIA)
